Who is responsible

Scootmaps is operated by Roy and Milan (not yet registered as a company). For privacy questions, contact hello@scootmaps.nl.

Until formal company registration, we act as data controllers for this website and the web app.

What we collect

When you use the website or web app we may process: approximate location (if you grant it for routing), routing waypoints sent to our BRouter proxy, and technical logs (IP address, user agent) on our servers.

If you accept analytics cookies, we store a first-party session identifier, pages you visit, map usage (routes calculated, location permission state), and coarse location snapshots when you grant browser location - retained up to 90 days, visible to admins only.

If you sign in with Google, we store your email address and profile details to run your account. Product update emails are on by default; you can turn them off in your profile. We record when you opt in or out.

We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights on the marketing site, which may use cookies or similar technologies. Map tiles are loaded via MapTiler.

Why and lawful bases

Routing data is processed to provide navigation (contract / legitimate interest). Account data is processed to provide login and social features (contract). Product update emails use your account email unless you turn them off in profile or via unsubscribe links.

Analytics help us understand site usage (consent or legitimate interest where applicable). First-party analytics run only after you accept the cookie banner; reject means we do not set a Scootmaps analytics cookie.

Retention and your rights

Server logs are kept for a limited period. Analytics session data is deleted after about 90 days. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by emailing us. You may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
